Take a recording out of your library without destroying anything — the audio, transcript, summary and everything Ask Memory knows about it all stay exactly as they are. On iPhone, swipe a row to archive, move it to a folder, or delete it. On Mac and web, it's in the recording's menu. Find archived recordings under Archived, and unarchive to put one back.

Play, pause and skip from your keyboard, headphones, Lock Screen or Control Centre while you listen back — instead of whatever else was playing. On iPhone, playback also keeps going when you leave the app.

Long-press a folder to rename it, the way you already could on the web — so fixing a typo no longer means deleting the folder and filing everything into a new one.

Narrow your library search to a date range, or scope an Ask Memory question to a specific window ("what did we discuss last week?"). Now available on web, Mac, and iPhone.

Two new options in Settings → Your data: wipe every recording without deleting your account, or download your whole library as a ZIP of Markdown documents.

Losing your connection right as you hit record used to mean an error. Now it records locally on your device and uploads automatically once you're back online — no live transcript while offline, but nothing is lost.

Semantic search over your recordings' content previously only really worked in English. It now works across the same wide range of languages Noteary already transcribes.

A very long live recording used to just stop partway through with no warning. Noteary now rolls it over into a linked continuation recording instead — you'll see it as two entries in your library that read back-to-back, the same way a dropped connection has always been handled.

After a recording finishes processing, the menu bar popover used to sit on an "Open result" screen until you clicked through it. It now returns to the record button on its own a few seconds later — the finished recording stays one click away via a small banner instead of blocking the way to your next recording.

Removed some duplicated and filler content from the library and home screen, and bumped a few undersized fonts for easier reading.

If Noteary launched with just the menu bar icon showing — its normal, everyday state once you've closed the main window — meeting auto-detect and the floating recording HUD could silently never start for that whole session. Both now start correctly no matter how Noteary was launched.

If you're on a paid team, Ask Memory on Mac and iPhone now has the same "My memory" / workspace picker the web app already had, so you can search a shared workspace's recordings instead of only your own.

The library on Mac and iPhone now has a Select mode: check off several recordings and delete or move them to a folder in one action, instead of one at a time.

Already have a transcript (an Otter.ai export, meeting captions) instead of audio? Import it directly on Mac or iPhone — Noteary skips transcription and goes straight to summarizing it. Matches the import option that was already on web.

If an upload got interrupted by a dropped connection, Noteary on Mac now retries it the moment your network comes back, instead of waiting for the next time you relaunch the app.

The quick recorder popover now has a Pause/Resume button alongside Stop, so you don't need to open the main window to pause a recording.

Recording detail views on Mac and iPhone can now export SRT and VTT subtitle files directly, matching what was already available on the web.

Added a Siri Shortcut to stop a recording in progress, to go with the existing one to start one.

The Mac and iPhone library views only ever loaded your first 100 recordings, with nothing to indicate more existed — they now load more as you scroll, and folder filtering was moved server-side so a folder's contents can't come back incomplete either.

Search used to only look at the title and the transcript — a name mentioned only in the summary, an action item, a tag, or a renamed speaker wouldn’t turn up. It searches all of it now, with a real excerpt around the match instead of a blank snippet on multi-word queries, and the best match shown first instead of buried under an older date.

Fixed an occasional click in Mac recordings caused by a small timing gap between the microphone and system-audio streams under heavy load, an iOS interruption-recovery path that could leave capture running against a stale audio format after a call, and the “getting started” card showing to the wrong users. A recording stopped within 3 seconds of starting is now discarded automatically as a likely accidental tap, and the mobile web app got 5 real layout fixes at narrow screen widths.

When both your microphone and the meeting’s system audio were loud at the same time — which is exactly when someone is talking — the mixed recording could overshoot and get clipped flat, producing harsh static. It’s now smoothed instead of clipped, so loud, overlapping audio comes through clean.

Noteary now checks for new versions automatically and, when one’s ready, shows a single “Install & Relaunch” button right in the app. No download page, no dragging a file into Applications. It only ever checks in the background — installing always waits for you to click, so an update can never interrupt a recording. You can also trigger a check any time from the Noteary menu.

Noteary used to work out whether your meeting was still going by looking at window titles. Teams changes its window when you join a call, so Noteary thought the meeting had ended — and stopped a recording ten minutes in while it was still running. It now watches whether the meeting app is holding your microphone, which is precisely what being in a call means. It records for as long as you’re on the call, and stops shortly after you leave.

Noteary recognises the window Teams shows before you join a call. Once you actually joined, the in-call window looked to Noteary like the meeting had ended — and about ten minutes later it stopped the recording and filed it as finished, while the meeting was still going. Noteary now never stops a recording just because it can’t see the meeting window any more. It stops when the meeting app quits, or when you stop it; otherwise it keeps recording and lets you know it’s still going.

If the network hiccuped mid-recording, Noteary kept capturing and reconnected — but the audio from those seconds never reached the server, so the transcript simply skipped them with nothing to say why. That audio is now held on your device and sent the moment the connection is back, including if you pause or stop while it’s still reconnecting.

Opening your library, jumping through the command palette, reloading the tab, or logging out used to end a live recording on the spot, without a word. Now Noteary asks before doing anything that would stop it.

A recording queued while you were offline now uploads as soon as you’re back — when you reconnect, when you return to the tab, or the next time you open Noteary. On Safari it could previously wait indefinitely.

A recording whose processing was interrupted at exactly the wrong moment could sit in your library untranscribed forever. Noteary now finds those and finishes them.

When a Zoom, Teams, Webex, Google Meet, or Slack huddle call begins, a small card appears asking if you want to record it. One click starts capture with the meeting’s audio already selected. Ignore it and it disappears on its own — the countdown drains behind the text. Noteary never joins the call, and nothing is recorded unless you say so.

While recording, a compact bar shows elapsed time and a live level meter, with pause and stop right there. It floats above full-screen meetings, and you can drag it anywhere — it reappears where you left it next time.

Pause for a side conversation and pick up where you left off. When the meeting window goes away for good, Noteary stops the recording on its own instead of quietly capturing your empty room.

Drop in .txt, .srt, or .vtt files — including exports from Otter — and they’re analyzed and added to your library exactly like a recording you made here. Select as many as you like; they upload and process in the background.

Pick Zoom, Teams, Meet, or any other app from a live list and Noteary captures just that conversation alongside your mic — not everything else making noise on your Mac.
